Clinical governance councils & committees
Our nurses are encouraged to grow by participating in
clinical governance councils and committees dedicated to improving nursing
practice. Through their own professional growth and by acting as mentors to
their colleagues, the nurses provide valuable leadership and guidance, helping
the nursing profession itself to grow.
Nurses shape clinical practice through involvement and decision-making on
unit-based or hospital-wide committees and councils. These councils and
committees include research, practice, education, leadership, clinical
progression and peer review, advanced practice, nursing quality, staffing and
scheduling, protocol, procedure, and plans of care. Membership on the clinical
governance councils and committees includes staff nurses, educators, advanced
practice nurses, and nursing leaders.
