In late October, ADVANCE for Nurses named Children's Memorial Hospital as one of the region's top hospitals in the magazine's first Readers' Choice survey for the area of Chicago & Metro Areas of Wisconsin and Indiana. Children's Memorial Hospital was featured in the cover story of the Oct. 29, 2007, issue.

Voting was open to RNs who ranked hospitals in areas that matter most to nurses: quality of care, organizational culture, professional development, communication and retention efforts. The poll was available on the ADVANCE for Nurses Web site from March through July.

ADVANCE provided a list of 274 hospitals in the region and invited readers to rank their facility by responding on a 1-5 scale to 50 statements. From this list, participants voted on 81 different hospitals. Those scoring highest in each category were among the Readers' Choice list. “Scoring top honors in all five of the categories earned Children's Memorial Hospital a spot on the Reader's Choice Honor Roll,” according to Pamela Tarapchak, ADVANCE RN editor.

With 31 publications serving more than 1.7 million healthcare professionals across the nation, ADVANCE newsmagazines cover a variety of specific healthcare disciplines with news, career guidance, product information, continuing education opportunities, job listings and much more.
