Social work
Social workers help families cope with the stress of having an ill child.
Working with the child's medical team and the family, social workers help plan
the care and treatment of patients, assist with the day-to-day issues many
families face here, as well as with unexpected needs stemming from the child's
medical condition. Staff can counsel and problem-solve with family members
during these times and help them identify what they need to do for themselves.
Our mission and vision

Hospital is to enhance the health,
social-functioning and well-being of the children, families and communities
which we serve. In carrying out this mission, we are guided by our values and

- The central importance of human relationships
- The protection and safety of all children and families
- The right to self-determination
- Interdisciplinary collaboration and open communication

justice
We endeavor to provide our services in a family-centered manner that is
holistic, compassionate and culturally competent. We believe this is best
accomplished in an environment where staff is encouraged to grow personally and
