Heartlight

The mission of Heartlight is to offer support and a safe place for families coping with the death of a child to find hope, strength, and healing. Heartlight serves both families affiliated with Children's Memorial Hospital, as well as those in the larger community.

In a family's time of loss, Heartlight can offer:

  • Support groups, specifically for families who have had a child die. A Parents Group and Sibling Group meet concurrently. A group is also available for Spanish-speaking families.
  • Speakers Bureau, which provides educational/supportive presentations and crisis intervention to community groups, schools and other organizations coping with loss.
  • Hope of Heartlight educational/supportive contact and mailing program, which extends grief support through phone calls and mailings.
  • Referrals to services
  • Memorial Services, held annually for families who have experienced the death of a child.
  • All services are offered at no cost and are provided by professionals and extensively trained volunteers.
