International advocacy
The Department of Surgery works in partnership with
REMEDY to donate surgical supplies to developing nations
to assist with pediatric surgeries. REMEDY is a group of health care
professionals and others promoting the nationwide practice of recovery of
open-but-unused surgical supplies. The goal of the program is to provide international medical relief
while reducing solid medical waste from US hospitals.
For more information or to make a donation, visit REMEDY.
In addition, third-year pediatric residents are exposed
to international advocacy learning experiences through Project
Mwanza in Tanzania, Africa.
