Children's Memorial is committed to exposing pediatricians and other
child-care professionals to the importance of child advocacy. To further this
goal we support a variety of programs:
- Support for collaboration with Bugando Medical Center
of Mwanza, Tanzania
- Community medicine
and child advocacy (CMCA) rotation at Near North Pediatrics at Uptown for
Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine second-year pediatric residents
- Projects DOCC (Delivery of Chronic Care) for first
year pediatric residents
- Support for pediatric resident electives in advocacy
- Lectures to Northwestern University's
Feinberg School of Medicine child psychiatry and psychology residents on child
advocacy
- Lectures to Children's Memorial social work interns and staff
- Collaboration with Rush University Medical Center
pediatric nurse-practioner training program in development of curricula and
field placements in child advocacy for pediatric nurse-practioner students.
- Support for community-based field training
opportunities.
- Collaboration with Northern Illinois University exposing masters
levels teachers to community and educational partnerships for the special-needs
child.
