Most recent accreditation survey by the Joint Commission
The Joint Commission conducted an unannounced accreditation survey of Children's Memorial Hospital in November 2007.
The purpose of the survey was to evaluate the organization's compliance with nationally established Joint Commission standards. These standards represent a rigorous national consensus on quality patient care amidst changing healthcare practices and new delivery methods.
Participation in the Joint Commission accreditation process is completely voluntary. The Joint Commission standards address organization quality and safety-of-care issues and the safety of the environment in which care is provided.
We choose to participate in the unannounced survey process for measurement against national standards for excellence in providing care, treatment and services to our patients. The outcome of our survey can be viewed on the Quality Check site of Joint Commission at www.jointcommission.org.
The accreditation decision for Children's Memorial Hospital is effective through November 2010 and includes all services surveyed under the hospital and its ambulatory sites. Our accreditation acknowledges our commitment to our patients and families through the daily work of our dedicated physicians, nurses and staff.
As noted in our Patient Rights information, all concerns about the quality or safety of patient care at Children's Memorial are very important to us. We encourage you to contact our Patient Relations department staff to share your concerns at 773.880.4668. Our Patient Relations staff is committed to help resolve any concerns in a timely manner.
If the concern cannot be resolved through this process, the Patient Relations staff members will provide you with the contact information for the Joint Commission.
