We have been widely recognized for our work environment:
- Children's Memorial became the first hospital in Illinois and the first freestanding children's hospital in the nation to receive the prestigious Magnet Recognition for Nursing Excellence from the American Nurse's Credentialing Center (ANCC) as one of the great places to work as a nurse. We were also recognized by the Health Care Advisory Board as one of only five “Destination Nursing” hospitals in the country – those hospitals that can serve as role models for recruiting and retaining nurses during a severe nursing shortage.
