Jesse Fregoso, maintenance electrician

Since 1974, Jesse Fregoso has worn many hats at Children’s Memorial Hospital. Fregoso began working in a part-time stock assistant position in the Food Services department while in high school and has used his experience and knowledge to advance his career within the organization, to include roles as a receiving clerk and a stationary engineer. Corbett Ryan, concierge

For Corbett Ryan, working at Children’s Memorial Hospital has been a life-long dream. “I’ve been a patient at Children’s Memorial many times and this is the only place where I ever wanted to work,” says Ryan. Since 2006, Ryan has served as a concierge in the Security Services department, where he warmly greets visitors as they arrive in the main lobby and escorts them to their destination.Read more>>>

Raye Block, registered nurse

“The opportunity to take care of the most special children in the world is the reason that I have chosen to work at Children’s Memorial for more than thirty years,” says Raye Block, RN. In 1975, Block began her career at Children’s Memorial as an LPN in Neurosurgery. With the support of the tuition reimbursement program, Block continued her education and received an associate’s degree in nursing in 1982. Since that time, she has worked as a registered nurse in Neurosurgery.   Read more>>>

Elizabeth Fung, senior social worker

For Elizabeth Fung, working at Children’s Memorial Hospital is like “being part of a larger family. The connections that we make with families are so important and the work we do has such an impact on their lives.” As a senior social worker in the hemophilia and thrombophilia program since 1977, Fung has made a difference in the lives of countless children and families. She works closely with families in adjusting to their child’s diagnosis, managing their treatment plan and preparing children for successful school and life transitions. Her work does not go without notice, as she was honored with the 2006 Social Worker of the Year Award by the National Hemophilia Association. Read more>>>

Michael Pogue, administrative assistant

In looking for a new career opportunity following his college graduation, Michael Pogue decided to apply at Children’s Memorial at the recommendation of a friend. Pogue began his career at Children’s Memorial in 2006 as an administrative assistant in the clerical float pool. Read more>>>

Annette Urganus, research associate

As a child, Annette Urganus remembers riding by Children’s Memorial with her mother who remarked about the great work that is done at the hospital. “To be part of it now, gives me such a great feeling,” she says. Through a unique research training program offered at Children’s Memorial Research Center, Urganus began her career with the organization. Read more>>>
