The Associate Director is
responsible for strategic direction and implementation of the corporate
foundation and foundation fundraising program. The Associate Director will
manage the strategic development and planning of the overall program and manage
the daily activities focused on the cultivation, solicitation, growth and
stewardship of foundation and corporate foundation relationships within the
Corporate & Foundation Gifts program.
Responsibilities will be coordinated under the management of the AVP,
Corporate & Foundation Gifts.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Manages the strategic development
and oversight of the Corporate and Foundation Gifts Development program.
Manages the budgetary planning of the program.

Oversee the daily activities
focused on the identification, cultivation, solicitation, growth and
stewardship of foundation and corporate foundation
relationships.

Manage Development Officers in
building their programs and in monitoring appropriate activity levels to
ensure achievement of goals.

Identify and actively prospect for
new foundation and corporate foundation prospects in support of current and
campaign needs. Cultivate, solicit and steward current foundation and
corporate foundation donors through grant writing and stewardship
reporting.

Manage a portfolio of 40 to 60
prospects with the giving potential of $4 million per annum. The Foundation maintains Research,
Donor Relations and Proposal Writing teams for the Development Officer to
utilize in cultivating, soliciting and stewarding donors.

Requirements

Undergraduate degree, preferably
in Public Relations, Communications, or Marketing.

Three to five years of corporate
and/or foundation relations development
experience.

Applicant must be able to attend
meetings and events, many of which are held during evening hours and on
weekends.

Experience working closely with
professional, donor or client constituent groups vital.

Discretion with confidential
materials required.

Ability to work independently in a
deadline-oriented team environment required.

Word processing and spreadsheet
experience required.

Dexterity to operate computer
equipment and the capability to transport materials to and from
meetings.

Attention to detail and the
ability to prioritize and execute multiple projects under demanding deadlines
are essential.

Experience with Raisers Edge or
other fundraising databases helpful.

Excellent organizational and
interpersonal skills as well as creativity and resourcefulness.

A strong command of the English
language and the ability to compose, edit and proof written language and to
communicate effectively on a verbal level.
