The Assistant Vice President of Operations is responsible for the overall strategy, management and execution of the operations of Children's Memorial Hospital Foundation. The individual will lead and direct the operations efforts which include data management, information systems, finance, office management and foundation planning. The position requires: extensive non-profit operational experience; major institutional campaign experience, proven success leading a high level team, demonstrated leadership with administrators, physicians and development staff; motivation to aggressively meet annual financial goals; creativity in helping develop new programs and methods; willingness to function as part of the Children's Memorial Foundation management team in achieving identified priorities; and the ability to understand.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Develops annual divisional expense budgets. Partners with the CMF Finance team to review and monitor monthly revenue and expense budgets. Acts as the key contact for these issues with others on the CMF Leadership Team. Ensures CMF budgetary compliance.
  • Manages the CMF processes around work plan development and administration, goal setting, quarterly progress reviews and staff succession planning.
  • Partners with IT to develop/modify business analytics needed to ensure relevant statistical donor reports and measurements. These reports are used by key programs and operations to monitor and achieve operational and financial objectives.
  • Reviews and monitors all donor processes and business rules related to the management of donor relationships at CMH. Collaborates with prospect management and major gifts; develops integrated prospect management process to monitor movement of Major Gift’s prospects.
  • Works closely with Finance to understand monthly operating results, gift and data processing (development financial services), event profitability, cost per dollar raised, and budget preparation.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university; graduate degree preferred.
  • Eight years of progressive experience in a substantial institutional setting, preferably in a health care system. Campaign and CFRE accreditation preferred
  • A track record of successfully managing non-profit donor management system and other donor processes.
  • Prior supervisory experience is required as well as a management style that is communicative, performance-base and highly organized, yet flexible to changing demands associated with a customer driven and team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Proven editing skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and effectively manage and set priorities is essential.
  • The Assistant Vice President of Operations should be goal oriented, comfortable in initiating programs, creating and cultivating relationships and working with board members.
  • Strong and effective management and coaching skills are necessary as is a willingness to coordinate and collaborate with the Foundation Management team in order to meet agreed upon goals.
  • The Assistant Vice President of Operations is expected to participate in and endorse activities that support the development profession. Evidence of continued education in management, major and planned gifts, volunteer management or related subjects is desirable.
  •  Office setting. 
  • Local and national travel required.
