Essential Job Duties:

The Clinical Manager facilitates, promotes, and role models the
philosophy and style consistent with the CMMC leadership statement. In
particular, instills within the team the values as identified in the
mission and vision statements. Acts as a facilitator/coordinator of the
staff functions within the team, and acts as a point/resource person
primarily within the team. Plays a critical role as a liaison across areas
and clusters. The clinical components of the position occur primarily as a
functioning member of the team of origin. Collaborates closely with other
team leaders and the administrator or director to coordinate day-to-day
activities. Facilitates the operation and growth of the team and the team
members. The effective facilitation of the team will include the
encouragement, growth, education and identification of strengths and
weaknesses of each member of the team. Understands and integrates into the
delivery of patient care the needs of neonatal, pediatric, and adolescent
patients in regards to their growth and development process. The position
actively supports the Hospital’s and the department’s Continuous Quality
Improvement and customer service goals through modeling of appropriate
behavior and by providing a work environment conducive to attaining these
goals. |

Summary of Job Responsibilities:
Accountable for the coordination of the team to provide quality service
in the area of responsibility. Maintains a work environment that
encourages retention. development of the team, customer services and
family-centered care by being a team role model. Demonstrates practice
planning abilities to address and prevent potential problems. Ensures that
an adequate number of team members are scheduled to effectively provide
high-quality patient care. Develops, implements and monitors the
effectiveness of the operational procedures in the area. Responsible for
organizing and facilitating team meetings. Manages complex projects.
Actively develops and supports liaison relationships with other teams,
clusters and departments. Promotes effective customer service. Ensures
that quality service is provided. Encourages and participates in
committees. Promotes active communication among clusters, developing
methods for consistent integration. Facilitates communication and
collaboration of multidisciplinary team. Remains aware of changes
occurring within the hospital and communicates pertinent information to
team members as necessary. Performs direct patient care and clinical
responsibilities or other staff functions appropriate for the position.
Resource person for the team, works to develop and coordinate systems
within the cluster. Actively facilitates problem identification, avoidance
and resolution. Serves as patient care advocate. Collaborates with the
director and/or administrator to creatively develop, implement and monitor
a fiscally sound budget for capital and operational resources. Immediately
sets into action contingency leadership practices, rapidly matching
demands and resources in emergency/urgent situations involving patients or
equipment. Identifies essential resources for training and education.
Collaborates with team members to coordinate the patient care area’s
educational activities and professional
development. |
Summary of Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Science or Nursing required, master’s degree preferred.
Current RN Licensure in the State of Illinois is required. 3-5 years
nursing experience, with some leadership experience. Must possess exceptional
organization, communication, problem-solving and system improvement skills.
Knowledge of budgets/finance. Must work with a variety of personnel.
Demonstrates ability to mentor team, excellent communication and interpersonal
skills. Routinely makes daily operational decisions including emergency/urgent
situations.
