Working at Children's Memorial

Jesse Fregoso, maintenance electrician

With the support of the tuition reimbursement program, Fregoso completed additional coursework to become a certified electrician in 1989.

Since 1974, Jesse Fregoso has worn many hats at Children’s Memorial Hospital. Fregoso began working in a part-time stock assistant position in the Food Services department while in high school and has used his experience and knowledge to advance his career within the organization, to include roles as a receiving clerk and a stationary engineer. Fregoso notes, “I was given a lot of opportunities to learn new skills.”  With the support of the tuition reimbursement program, Fregoso completed additional coursework to become a certified electrician in 1989. In his current role as a maintenance electrician, Fregoso keeps busy in maintaining the hospital power utility, lighting, fire alarm system and other electrical equipment across the organization. “I like that the work is different every day,” says Fregoso.

Fregoso cites his belief in the hospital’s mission and the positive work environment as the key reasons for his long tenure with the hospital. “There’s nothing like seeing a family leave here together with smiles on their faces.” His experiences with great people throughout the organization make it easy for him to “highly recommend” Children’s Memorial as a great place to work.
