Corbett Ryan, concierge
For Corbett Ryan, working at Children’s Memorial Hospital has been a life-long dream. “I’ve been a patient at Children’s Memorial many times and this is the only place where I ever wanted to work,” says Ryan. Since 2006, Ryan has served as a concierge in the Security Services department, where he warmly greets visitors as they arrive in the main lobby and escorts them to their destination. Ryan has also played a key role in planning for the new Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago by sharing his ideas on ways to make the new hospital an exceptional place for children to receive care.
Ryan has made a difference in the lives of patients and families not only as an employee, but also by serving as a volunteer for more than six years. His commitment to Children’s Memorial is illustrated by his enthusiasm for a place that has been such an integral part of his life. Ryan says, “The work is fun and amazing and I get to help families. I look forward to coming to work every day.”
