About Kawasaki Disease Fund

Founded by Monica and Drew Goss, Kawasaki Disease Fund (KDF) is a coalition of parents and medical professionals dedicated to raising funds for Kawasaki disease research at Children's Memorial. Kawasaki disease is an illness that causes inflammation of the blood vessels and can cause damage to coronary arteries. Research is key to uncovering the cause of Kawasaki disease and to developing new and better treatments for children affected by it. Because early diagnosis (within the first 10 days of symptoms) is a critical factor in the child's long-term prognosis, KDF is also committed to raising awareness of Kawasaki disease among health care professionals and the general public.
