Pediatric heart transplant volumes

The Pediatric Heart Transplant Program at Children’s Memorial Hospital is the largest and most comprehensive program of its kind in Illinois and has performed more than 150 heart transplants since the program’s inception in 1988. Our program boasts exceptional first-year survival rates and has impressive longer-term recovery, with most patients experiencing no limitations to normal childhood activity just one year after surgery.
