Baby signs
Children's Memorial's certified
speech-language pathologists are now offering a baby signs class. Baby sign language employs simple hand gestures that allow parents to communicate with their infant or toddler (age 9 to 18 months), before they are able to speak.
Research shows that children exposed to baby signs:
- Speak sooner
- Score higher on intelligence tests
- Display greater self-awareness
- Develop larger vocabularies
- Engage in more sophisticated play
- Show reduced frustration
