  • Initial consultation - Comprehensive family interview and physical exam.
  • Behavioral treatment - For children (from infants to teenagers) who have difficulties falling asleep or staying asleep.
  • Polysomnography - Sleep study during the child's normal sleep period includes continuous all-night video monitoring of sleep EEG, breathing, muscle activity etc. with a technician present at all times. Daytime multiple sleep latency tests are done to evaluate daytime sleepiness. Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) studies.
  • Actigraphy - Ambulatory objective sleep and wake activity monitoring (two consecutive weeks) using a small non-obtrusive "sports watch."
  • Follow-up - After test analysis by the sleep center staff, a comprehensive written report, including recommendations, is prepared for the referring physician (and the family if requested) to provide follow-up and management.
  • Interpretation - Home monitor event recordings and selective comprehensive home studies.
