Oxygen consumption (cardiopulmonary) analysis
Oxygen consumption analysis
provides insight to and objective data regarding the efficiency of one's
cardiopulmonary (involves the heart and lungs) system. This test is performed by
the Motion Analysis Center staff and takes approximately 1
to 2 hours to complete. The patient will be asked to wear a special mask (that
measures the air that is breathed in and out) along with small chest straps
(that holds some device instrumentation). Oxygen cost, respiration rate, and
heart rate are just some of the parameters that can be provided. Also, the
analysis can be done with full telemetry (wireless) allowing great flexibility
in testing. An oxygen consumption analysis can also be done in combination with
any of our other available tests such as a gait analysis or upper extremity
analysis.
