How can foot problems be specifically evaluated?

Foot pressure analysis may accompany the complete gait analysis or be performed on its own. Patients with foot pathologies such as pes valgus, residual clubfoot, cavus, flat foot are evaluated with custom- shaped pressure sensors or a pressure sensing mat to determine dynamic pressure distribution, center of pressure, and peak plantar pressure under specific anatomical structures during walking.

The pressure pattern is converted to a color picture of the foot on the computer screen which can be analyzed instantly or a color print can be generated in original size for later review. The information can be used for surgical planning and orthotic fabrication.
