The Motion Analysis Center at Children's Memorial Hospital offers
comprehensive computerized assessments of the components comprising human motion
to document the movement pattern of children and adults who may have
neuromuscular, orthopaedic or other movement disorders.
The center's state-of-the-art technologies measure joint motion and muscle
activity to produce an objective description and graphical display of the
patient's upper and lower extremity function. From these measurements,
appropriate treatment recommendations are made.
Sports Biomechanics Program
The Motion Analysis Center, in conjunction with Children's Memorial's
Institute for Sports Medicine, also offers a state-of-the-art Sports Biomechanics
Program. Designed to help prevent injury in young athletes, the program is
staffed by a comprehensive team of experts including a sports medicine
physician, biomedical engineer, physical therapist and sport-specific expert.
