Yuqi Zhao, PhD Bernard L. Mirkin PhD, MD, Research Scholar

Dr. Zhao, who specializes in molecular biology and genetics, received his MS and PhD degrees from Oregon State University. His postdoctoral training was at College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University, where he served as a faculty member for two years.

Dr. Zhao is currently an assistant professor at the Departments of Pediatrics, Microbiology-Immunology, and a member of the Center for Biotechnology and Medical Scientist Training Program, Integrated Graduate Program (IGP), Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Zhao serves as a member of scientific editorial board including Science Press, New York Ltd, Clinical and Applied Immunology Review, Frontiers in BioSciences and Chinese Journal of Clinical and Experimental Virology.

Currently, Dr. Zhao, president of the US-China AIDS Alliance, is a member of science advisory committee for the American Cancer Society and a member of Virology committee for the Pediatric AIDS Clinical Trial Groups (PACTG). He has published more than 30 scientific articles in various domestic and international journals with more than 30 conference abstracts and edited or co-edited three scientific books.
