arthritis

pain and/or joint swelling and tenderness, including the spine

bursitis

an inflammation of the bursas

Henoch-Schoenlein purpura

the most common disease of vascular inflammation in children

hyper-IgM syndrome

a condition that usually affects boys. It is characterized by frequent severe infections in the sinus, lungs and gastrointestinal tract.

juvenile dermatomyositis

a systemic vasculopathy affecting skin (rash) and muscle (proximal muscle weakness) in children; the most common inflammatory disease of muscle in children

juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA)

a form of arthritis in children ages 16 or younger that causes inflammation and stiffness of joints for more than six weeks

polymyositis

muscle inflammation without a rash

Raynaud syndrome

hands and/or feet that are cold and may turn red and blue with or without pain

reflex neurovascular dystrophy

localized pain or tenderness in a hand or foot

scleroderma

a chronic, connective tissue disease affecting the skin, joints and, sometimes, internal organs
