Eosinophilic esophagitis program

The eosinophilic esophagitis (EE) program at Children’s Memorial Hospital is a multi- disciplinary program focusing on the care and research of children diagnosed with eosinophilic esophagitis. Located at our Children's Memorial Outpatient Center in Lincoln Park, the program serves patients from all over Illinois. 

Patients are seen by a multi-disciplinary team that includes a pediatric gastroenterologist, registered dietitian, pediatric nurse practitioner and a social worker. The comprehensive care team provides the most up to date options in the management of EE, including participation in two clinical trials.

The members of the EE program include:

Clinical trials

The program has an active and growing research component. In addition to participation in clinical trials, the staff members regularly team up with other institutions to advance clinical research in this area.

Current clinical trials that are part of the eosinophilic esophagitic program include:

  • Efficacy of drug (anti-IL5) for patients with eosinophilic esophagitis
  • Efficacy of swallowed steroid suspension for patients with eosinophilic esophagitis
