Discharge-related nutrition information
Dietitians help your doctor create a nutrition plan. They cannot change what your doctor prescribed.
During your child's hospital stay, your family may have spoken with a registered dietitian/clinical nutritionist. Please feel free to contact us if you have questions about:
- Your child's diet.
- Your child's growth.
- Your child's nutrition plan, after being hospitalized.
To reach your dietitian...
- Call the dietitian directly.
- Call the division that cared for your child; in many clinical areas, physicians work directly with nutritionists.
- Call Clinical Nutrition at 773.880.4793.
Some questions dietitians can help answer...
- "My child was sent home on a special diet, what can he eat and does he need to avoid anything?"
- "The feeding schedule she was on in the hospital doesn't work at home; can you help me change it?"
- "I misplaced my feeding instructions; can you send me another copy?"
