This one-day symposium for pediatricians, family physicians and other healthcare providers will provide practical tips related to a variety of heart-related issues such as syncope, ECG, fetal cardiology, chest pains, cardiac surgery and care posttransplant. Throughout the day, our speakers will address some of the more common dilemmas associated with these issues, share first-hand experiences and offer guidelines on how to improve patient care.

At the end of this conference, participants will be able to:

  • List the most common causes for syncope in children.
  • Discuss the potential benefits for routine ECG screening.
  • Discuss who should and who should not get an SBE prophylaxis.
  • List the most common causes of chest pain in children.
  • List who should have a fetal echocardiogram.
  • Discuss obstacles that the post-transplant patient may have.
  • List two new surgical procedures for patients with congenital heart disease.
