CCPA Board of Directors

The CCPA Board of Directors is member-elected and comprised of 14 CCPA physician members:

Irwin Benuck, MD, PhD has been a Director since 1995 and previously served as President of the Board (1995-98). He is a board-certified pediatrician and practices with Traisman, Benuck & Traisman in Evanston, Illinois. Dr. Benuck is a 1979 graduate of Northwestern University Medical School and is an Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at that institution.
Aleta Clark, MD is the current President of CCPA. She previously served as a CCPA Board member (1999-2001). She is Past President of Children’s Memorial Hospital’s Medical and Dental Staff (2001-02), and current member and past Chair of the Credentials Committee of the Hospital. A board-certified pediatrician since 1979, Dr. Clark is part of Child and Adolescent Health Associates (five physicians) in Chicago. A 1974 graduate of Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, Dr. Clark received her postgraduate training at Children’s Memorial Hospital (1974-76) and University of Chicago/Wyler Children’s Hospital (1976-78). Dr. Clark is currently an Instructor in Clinical Pediatrics at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine.
Virginia DePaul, MD has been a Director since May, 2002. A board-certified pediatrician since 1987, Dr. DePaul is part of the North Suburban Pediatrics practice with locations in Evanston and Buffalo Grove. Dr. DePaul is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago (1981), and received her postgraduate training at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center (1981-84) and also worked as Chief Resident at Michael Reese Hospital (1984-85). Dr. DePaul is an Instructor in Pediatrics at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine.
Kamala A. Ghaey, MD has been a Director since 1996 and is currently the Vice President of the Board and Chair of the CCPA Quality Committee. She is a board-certified pediatrician and practices with Kidz Health in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Ghaey is a 1974 graduate of Lady Hardinge Medical College and Hospital in New Delhi, India and is an Instructor at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine.
Mary C. Hall, MD has been a member of CCPA since 2000. A board certified pediatrician since 1995, Dr. Hall is an owner of Kids Health Partners, LLC, a two-physician practice in Skokie. She is a 1992 graduate of Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, and received her postgraduate training at St. Louis Children's Hospital and at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.
Diane C. Holmes, MD has been a Director since 1999 and was President of the Board from 2002-06. She is a board-certified pediatrician and practices with Town & Country Pediatrics in Chicago and Glenview, Illinois. Dr. Holmes is a 1981 graduate of SUNY Buffalo School of Medicine and is an Instructor at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine.
Daniel Lum, MD became a Director in 2007. He is a board-certified pediatrician and practices with Pediatric Associates of the North Shore in Glenview and Wilmette, IL. Dr. Lum is 1981 graduate of University of Michigan Medical School and received his postgraduate training at Children’s Memorial Hospital (1981-84).
Charles L. O’Brien, MD has been a Director since 1996. He is a board-certified pediatrician and practices with Levy & O’Brien in Deerfield, IL. Dr. O’Brien is a 1977 graduate of Tulane University School of Medicine and is a Clinical Associate at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine.
Alan H. Resnick, MD has been a Director since 1999. He is board-certified in pediatrics and in allergy and immunology, and practices with Associated Allergists in Chicago, Hoffman Estates, and Highland Park, IL. Dr. Resnick is a 1980 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine.
Sheri Ross, MD joined the CCPA Board in 2004. A board-certified pediatrician since 1984, Dr. Ross is a member of Lake Shore Pediatrics with locations in Lake Forest, Barrington and Libertyville. Dr. Ross graduated from the School of Medicine at Michigan State University in 1981, and received her postgraduate training at Children’s Memorial Hospital (1981-84).
Michael Siegel, MD has been a Director since 1996. He is a former President and is the current Secretary and Treasurer of the Board. Dr. Siegel is a board-certified pediatrician and practices with Highland Park Pediatric Associates in Highland Park, IL. Dr. Siegel is a 1982 graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School and is an Instructor in Pediatrics at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine.
Susan Sirota, MD, has been a member of CCPA since 2000. A board-certified pediatrician since 1993, Dr Sirota is part of the Pediatric Partners practice (five physicians) with locations in Highland Park and Vernon Hills. She is a 1990 graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, and received her postgraduate training at Children’s Memorial Hospital/Northwestern University where she also served as a Chief Resident in pediatrics (1993-94). Dr. Sirota is an instructor in Pediatrics at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine.
Rebecca Unger, MD was elected a Director in May, 2003. Dr. Unger is a board-certified pediatrician and a member of The Northwestern Children’s Practice in Chicago. Dr. Unger graduated from Rush Medical College in 1985 and received her postgraduate training at Children’s Memorial Hospital (1985-90). Dr. Unger is also an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine of Northwestern University. She has also served as the Associate Director of the Continuity Clinic at Children’s Memorial Hospital.
Thomas J. Weigel, MD has been a Director since 1998 and serves on the Credentialing Committee. He is a board-certified pediatrician and pediatric cardiologist and practices with Thomas J. Weigel with Illinois locations in Chicago, Lake Forest, Barrington, Glenview, Arlington Heights and Long Grove, and Indiana locations in Valparaiso, Portage and Dyer. Dr. Weigel is a 1984 graduate of Loyola University/Stritch School of Medicine and is an Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine.
Kathleen McTigue, RN, is the Executive Director of CCPA and Administrator of Physician Services at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago. She is the former Director of Operations at Alexian Brothers Health System. Prior to that position, she worked for Advocate Health Care in leadership positions, including Director of Ambulatory Services at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital and Director of Pediatric Integration for the Health System. She holds a B.S.N. degree from Northern Illinois University and an MBA from University of Notre Dame – Chicago Program.
